I am also in favor of 鳥. It's 都了切 in Middle Chinese. The initial was nasalized around Yuan dynasty as can be seen in 中原音韻. This explains why it's so in Mandarin. n and t have the same place of articulation. As to "chiáu", it's evidently a palatalized pronunciation.
