Atlas shows world losing its tongue
Paris.  About 2,500 of the world’s roughly 6,000 languages are in danger of disappearing, a team of linguists said as they launched an online atlas of those that are endangered.

The atlas says 200 languages have become extinct in the past three generations and 199 have fewer than ten speakers. Among those recently classified as extinct is Eyak, whose last speaker died in Alaska last year. The atlas is Unesco’s third that lists disappearing languages and is the first one to go online. All parts of the world are affected, including France, the US and Africa.  (AP)

語言學家製作了一份線上瀕危語言地圖, 地圖顯示全世界六千多種語言中有兩千五百種語言有滅亡的危險. 地圖也顯示, 有兩百種語言在過去的三世代中已經滅亡, 一百九十九種語言的使用者不足十人. 最近確認的已滅亡語言是Eyak語, 最後一個使用者去年在阿拉斯加去世. 這份地圖是UNESCO製作的第三版世界瀕危語言地圖, 但卻是首次在線上發佈. 全世界瀕危的語言都可以在地圖上尋到, 不論法國, 米國還是非洲.

今天的参考消息登载了法国《世界报》2月19日文章《全球2500多种语言面临消亡》，也提到这“濒危语言地图集”。

闽语里面都没有濒危的分支吗？还是他们根本没把闽语算进来？

unesco不會把中國的'方言'當做獨立的語言
其實, 尤溪縣, 大田縣等地的語言呣是瀕危就是 unsafe.

汉语被看成一个整体了……其实要是看成一个个小语言的话，汉语族里濒危的应该有许多。
