屋簷

How do you say 屋簷 in your place? In Taiwan I have heard "nî-chîⁿ" and "gîm-chîⁿ". According to 台文/華文線頂辭典, there are also gîm-kîⁿand gîm-khîⁿ.

In Medhurst's A Dictionary of the Hok-Keen Dialect of the Chinese Language, he thought the characters for nî-chîⁿwere 簷前.

潮州话屋檐说“临檐” ，一说本字为“廉檐”，但我较认可“临檐”。MTR潮罗应作lîm-chîⁿ, chîⁿ 是 檐 的白读音。这个chîⁿ应该不会是“前”字（前，潮语文读chhiâng, 白读tsôiⁿ），因为 壁虎 在潮汕叫 “檐龙” chîⁿ-lêng, 那个檐就是这个白读音。檐龙在客家叫檐蛇iam sa.

“nî-chîⁿ（簾檐）”是屋簷。“gîm-kîⁿ（岑墘）”是“屋檐下的有台阶过廊”。请见下图红线所示。

I heard that from TV program 土地公傳奇 and on a Taiwanese radio program. And after I checked some dictionaries, it's also shown. That term is not found in Douglas'.

今天查了卓威廉（W. Duffus）字典，里面屋檐也是lîm-chîⁿ, 天花板则作buan-thien（按发展，现在的潮汕音应是buang-thiang/thieng）, 但不知是哪两个字，现在似乎没这么说的了。
